APRILIA RSV4 X ex3ma

Using the pinnacle of Nole Racing Division technology, April Racing has created the most advanced and high-performing RSV4 to date, a true bridge to MotoGP.

The world's first and only motorcycle with ground-effect aerodynamics is the Aprilia RSV4 X EX3MA. This ground-breaking technology is patented by Aprilia Racing and was previously limited to the RS-GP prototype competing in MotoGP.

With 230 horsepower and 165 kg, this bike offers unparalleled riding performance, meticulous attention to detail, and a complete racing setup.

Aprilia Racing has built the most advanced RSV4 yet, the RSV4 X ex3ma, as part of their ongoing quest for the greatest level of technology. This is the fourth installment in a remarkable project that started in 2019 with the RSV4 X, continued in 2022 with the more sophisticated RSV4 X Thirty, and ended in 2019 with the Tuono X. These genuinely exclusive models—designated with a 'X'—represent the highest level of performance and technology made accessible to the general public.

The first team in MotoGP to take aerodynamic studies to the limit was Aprilia Racing. Acknowledging their significance, it presented innovative solutions, making the Aprilia RS-GP prototype the most sophisticated in this domain.

Since it is the first and only bike with ground-effect aerodynamics available for public sale, the Aprilia RSV4 X ex3ma signifies a direct connection to MotoGP. This extremely advanced technology was previously only available on the MotoGP-racing RS-GP 24, as it was developed and trademarked alone by Aprilia Racing.

During cornering, the unique form of the moulded fairing on the flanks increases grip by taking use of the air pressure that exists between the ground and the bike. The newly designed front wing, the under wing (sometimes called the "spoon") under the swingarm, and the cornering wings on the lower portion of the front mudguard make up the overall aerodynamic package, which is derived from MotoGP. Using the same methods used by MotoGP, PAN Compositi created the fairing entirely out of carbon fibre. It reduces wheelies and improves stability and precision by increasing vertical air pressure five times faster in a straight line than the already cutting edge X Trenta. It greatly improves grip in corners by tripling the downforce.

The mythology surrounding motorcycle racing and Aprilia's history serve as inspiration for the unique Perla Nera livery. The RSV4 X Ex3ma's glossy black and graphic design pays homage to one of the most legendary bikes in the history of the sport—the RS 250, which Max Biaggi rode to three consecutive 250cc class world championships from 1994 to 1996. The livery that Aprilia Racing picked for the most recent race at Silverstone is no accident. Every manufacturer competed in their most recognisable colours to commemorate 75 years of MotoGP.

Max Biaggi himself was involved in the track development and final tuning of the RSV4 X ex3ma:

“Participating in the development of a bike like the RSV4 X ex3ma was like being at the test sessions of a real racing prototype. It’s a bit like pre-season testing, where the technical groundwork for an entire season is laid. Similarly, the dedication on the track has been unwavering, seeking to prepare a motorcycle that provides its fortunate riders with the same sensations as a racing prototype.

The technical data sheet is an uncompromising description of a true racing bike. The 1099 cc, renowned 65° V4 engine has been fine-tuned by Aprilia Racing's engine specialists to produce 131 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm and 230 horsepower at 13,500 rpm, with a top speed of 13,900 rpm. A higher compression ratio, a high-permeability Sprint Filter air filter, and a SC Project exhaust system with titanium headers and twin tailpipes are some of the modifications used to the V4 to attain this performance.

Beyond aerodynamic and engine advancements, the Aprilia RSV4 X ex3ma has evolved to new heights of performance and technology thanks to its electronic systems. Aprilia Racing's ECU is in charge of all the active electronic controls.

Carbon fibre rims on the Aprilia RSV4 X Ex3ma improve handling, acceleration, and braking performance by lowering weight and unsprung mass. The identical slick tires that Pirelli uses in the Superbike World Championship—the SCX (rear, 200/65) and SC1 (front, 125/70)—are mounted on these rims.
